WHAT IS EXPECTED FROM SNS STUDENTS ?
- They should take good care of their health and strive to be robust and strong.
- They should always be friendly with others, both within the school and outside.
- They should avoid vulgarity in their speech and behavior.
- They should accept whatever work is assigned to them as their rightful share and face difficulties courageously.
- They should always be ready to lend a helping hand—to their parents, brothers and sisters at home, to teachers and companions at school, and to any unattended visitor they may encounter on the school premises.
- They should stand up when any teacher or visitor comes to speak to them.
- They should never cheat or be unfair while playing.
- They should be truthful, whatever the cost.
- They should never be cruel. They must understand that cruelty is the trait of a bully, while kindness is the mark of a gentleman.
- They should respect the liberty and rights of others.
- They should respect the cleanliness and appearance of the classroom and the school premises, and report any damage they observe.
- They should never hesitate to say “No” when asked or tempted to do something they know is wrong.
- Instead of lamenting and grumbling about the evils of the world, they should contribute their share in making it a better place to live.
- They should regard people from all parts of the world as their brethren, irrespective of colour or creed.
- They should not waste time in idle gossip.
- They should take pride in wearing their school uniform.
- They should be brave and courageous, and express themselves freely but with politeness.
- They should accept their mistakes boldly, if and when they commit any.
GENERAL GUIDELINES TO PARENTS / GUARDIANS
- Parents are requested not to enter classrooms to see their children or meet teachers during school hours. They may meet teachers at the reception area only when required. Prior intimation through the almanac is appreciated.
- Parents are requested to inform the school if there is any change in their address or telephone numbers.
- For security reasons, half-day leave cannot be entertained. In case of an emergency, written permission must be obtained from the Principal. The child will be allowed to go home only with the parents or an authorized person.
- If students come to school escorted by attendants, parents must advise their ward(s) not to leave school before the attendants arrive. In case of delay, students should report to the school office.
- Parents are strongly advised not to criticize teachers or the school in the presence of their children, as this may lead to a loss of respect for teachers and negatively impact the child’s learning and progress.
- please check your ward’s haircut, uniform, and punctuality every morning.
- Ensure your ward carries textbooks and exercise books according to the timetable for the day. No extra books are allowed.
- Ensure your ward is prepared for assignment tests and brings answer books to school daily. Also, check the Report Card and read the teacher’s remarks in class work and homework exercise books.
- Parents should not send their ward to school to appear in an assignment test if he or she is unwell, as the student will not be permitted to go home after the test.
- Encourage your ward to maintain a balanced interest in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports.
- Children should not bring crackers, color powders, transistors, mobile phones, etc., to school. Bursting crackers or playing with colors may result in expulsion from the school.
- No student will be allowed to go home without written permission from the Principal, unless the parent or an authorized person comes to pick up the child.
- If your ward is absent from school, he or she must make up all the missed work.
- Please do not request to speak with teachers over the phone.
- All parents are requested to impart health education to their children. Students should:
- Maintain personal hygiene, such as trimming nails and staying neat.
- Exercise regularly.
- Sleep for at least eight hours daily.
- Eat a balanced, protein-rich diet.
- Drink only boiled or filtered water.
- Bring their own water bottles from home.
- Seek advice from a family physician regarding healthy living.
- Be administered the following vaccines at the appropriate age:
- Before school entry: BCG, DPT, Oral Polio
- At 5 years of age: Measles/MMR, DT
- Between 7–16 years: Tetanus booster
- Annually: Typhoid, Cholera, Hepatitis
- Optional: Meningitis
- Students suffering from contagious diseases such as chickenpox, cholera, measles, mumps, whooping cough, or jaundice must observe the prescribed quarantine period, as outlined under the "Absence" section in the almanac.
- Students with chronic conditions such as conjunctivitis, dermatitis, or scabies should not be sent to school.
- If a child suffers from conditions like asthma, epilepsy, or rheumatic heart disease, the school should be informed about the necessary precautions.
- Attendance at Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) is mandatory for all parents.
- If a student is detained in school on disciplinary grounds, the parents must come to school to collect and escort their ward home.
SCHOOL RULES
- Every student should carry his/her almanac to school every day.
- The school gate will close sharp at 7:25 a.m. Students who repeatedly arrive late will be dealt with strictly.
- The warning bell before classes or assembly is a signal for all to proceed promptly and silently to the assembly or their respective classrooms. Once inside, students should get ready with their books and notebooks for the first period.
- Changing classrooms between periods should be done silently and in an orderly manner.
- Shouting or whistling is strictly prohibited in or around the school building. Running in the corridors is also strictly prohibited.
- It is strictly forbidden to throw anything at anyone.
- Non-Sikh boys must get their hair cut at regular intervals in a proper manner. Fashionable hairstyles are not allowed. Non-conforming students will be dealt with strictly.
- Sikh boys must wear turbans in Class IX and above. A patka may be worn only during games or physical activities.
- Students should maintain cleanliness and always be neatly dressed. The school uniform must be worn on all working days and at all school functions. Students who are shabbily dressed or not in proper uniform will not be allowed to enter their classrooms. Graffiti on uniforms is strictly prohibited. Tight-fitting trousers are not allowed.
- Students must come to school in uniform at all times, even when visiting the school for purposes other than attending classes or during after-school hours.
- Student photographs submitted for any school-related purpose must show them in school uniform.
- Care should be taken of all school property. Students must not scratch or damage desks, chairs, furniture, or walls, or damage items belonging to others. Any such damage must be reported immediately to the class teacher or Principal.
- Any damage caused will be compensated by the concerned student, along with a fine. Students must report any damage they observe, even if they do not know who is responsible.
- Students are not allowed to bring sharp instruments, mobile/cell phones, or valuable items such as expensive watches, fountain pens, transistors, calculators, cameras, or jewellery to school. The school is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
- Lending or borrowing of money or other items is not permitted.
- Only academic literature relevant to schoolwork should be brought to school.
- Students should observe polite manners wherever they go. They must greet their teachers respectfully when they meet them. Bullying and the use of foul language are punishable offences.
- Bursting crackers or using colours during Diwali, Holi, or on any other occasion, or celebrating days without authorization is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule may lead to expulsion.
- The school reserves the right to terminate the enrollment of students who show unsatisfactory academic progress or whose behavior is detrimental to others.
- Parents, guardians, and visitors may not meet their wards or teachers in the classroom without the Principal’s permission.
- Students must return their report cards duly signed by their guardians within the specified date.
- School appointees must wear their respective badges daily.
- All students should maintain personal hygiene, including trimming nails, brushing teeth, polishing shoes, etc.
- Girls must plait their hair if it is below shoulder length. Short hair must be neatly cut and pinned. Non-conforming students will be dealt with strictly.
- Senior and junior students must use only the toilets/lavatories and water purifiers/coolers designated for their use.
- To claim any kind of duplicate documents, a fee of Rs. 100 will be charged, and the document will be issued within 3–7 working days.
- To claim documents older than three years, a fee of Rs. 200 will be charged, and the document will be issued within 3–7 working days.
Academic Rules
- Attendance Requirements: State the minimum percentage of class attendance required for students to maintain good academic standing.

- Grading Criteria: Explain how students' performance will be assessed and graded.

- Safety Equipment Guidelines: Specifies the proper use of safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers and first aid kits.
- Hazardous Materials Handling: Details procedures for the safe storage and handling of chemicals and other hazardous substances.
- Visitor Policies: Establishes rules for visitors entering the school premises, including sign-in procedures and identification requirements.
- Incident Reporting: Provides instructions for reporting safety concerns or accidents to the appropriate authorities.
Health and Wellness Rules
- Immunization Requirements: Specifies mandatory vaccinations for students in compliance with health regulations.
- Illness Reporting: Details procedures for students to report illnesses or injuries to school staff.
- Medication Administration: Provides guidelines for administering medication to students during school hours.
- Physical Education Guidelines: Outlines expectations for participation in physical education classes and sports activities.
- Nutrition Policies: Promotes healthy eating habits and establishes guidelines for school meals and snacks.
Facilities and Property Rules
- Facility Maintenance Standards: Establishes expectations for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in school facilities.
- Equipment Use Guidelines: Specifies rules for using school equipment and resources, including computers, laboratories, and gym equipment.
- Parking Regulations: : Details parking rules for students, staff, and visitors, including designated areas and permit requirements.
- Personal Belongings: Provides guidelines for storing personal belongings and using lockers or storage spaces.
- Prohibited Items: Lists items not allowed on school premises, such as weapons, drugs, or disruptive materials.
Extracurricular and Activity Rules
- Eligibility Requirements: Specify criteria for participating in extracurricular activities, clubs, or sports teams.
